11/03/2010 Whitty holds a perfect scorecard in the Harken Women's International Match Racing Regatta
Lucinda Whitty has maintained her unbeaten record in the Harken Women's International Match Racing regatta with another perfect scorecard of 7 wins, giving her an overall total of 16 wins with two flights of Round Robins still to be completed tomorrow.

Lucinda Whitty and Samantha Osborne are locked in a trans-Tasman battle at the top of the leader board at the end of round robin one in the Harken Women's International Match Racing Regatta, being hosted by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

09/03/2010 Berrimilla heading for Sydney at end of circumnavigation
Intrepid sailors Alex Whitworth and Peter Crozier sailed out of Hobart today aboard their 10m sloop Berrimilla, bound for their home port of Sydney and their home clubs, the Royal Australian Navy Sailing Assocation (RANSA) and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

Some of the world's best women's match racers from Australia and New Zealand shared flights across the Tasman, flying in from Auckland following the New Zealand Women's Match Racing Championship. The highest ranked skipper in the regatta, Samantha Osborne (RNZYS) arrived yesterday, and is looking forward to taking on the Australian's again after finishing in third place behind Katie Pellew and Nicky Souter in the Auckland event.

07/03/2010 Day 2 and event win belongs to Loki, Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta
Division 1 of the Audi IRC Series at the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta again belonged to Stephen Ainsworth and his well-sailed Reichel/Pugh 63 Loki (NSW) today, his second overall win handing him the Series win after Wild Oats X, (Bob Oatley's Reichel/Pugh 66, suffered generator problems again and shredded two spinnakers, while Geoff Ross' Reichel/Pugh 55, Yendys (NSW) could not keep up the Loki pace.

06/03/2010 Loki in the box seat on Day 1 of Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta
Stephen Ainsworth's Loki, a Reichel/Pugh 63 Loki (NSW), was first out of Sydney Heads after getting off the Watsons Bay start line quickly at 11.30am, but it wasn't long before Bob Oatley's Reichel/Pugh 66 Wild Oats X (NSW) had overhauled her smaller rival, Richards sailing Wild Oats X up the left hand side of the course, while the chasers headed right.

Australian's Nicky Souter and Katie Pellew (nee Spithill) plus Kiwi Stephanie Hazard still lead the Live Sport Telecom New Zealand Women's Match Racing Championships.

04/03/2010 Wild Oats XI lines up for Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle with one day until close of entries
Bob Oatley's 100 foot Wild Oats XI will line up for the start of the Audi Sydney Offshore Newcastle Yacht Race on Friday 19 March at 12 noon, with twenty other yachts who have already confirmed their participation in the third edition of the race.

CYCA Cruising, together with 6 boats from RPAYC, spent the weekend of the 9th and 10th January as guests of the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club. We took the easy option of sailing north in two legs, overnighting in Pittwater and then riding an ESE breeze the 48nm to Newcastle.

Those seas and wind against current will pose the first major tactical decision for skippers - whether to head offshore to find the northerly current that acts as a sort of conveyor belt south, but at the cost of pounding into steeper, bigger waves which can damage the boat, or to stay inshore where the waves should not be as steep.

29/07/2009 Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race Fleet Home, Sanyo Maris Retires and Results Confirmed

At midnight last night Ian Kiernan and Tiare Tomaszewski's Tasman Seabird Sanyo Maris retired just south of Cape Byron due to wind conditions. Sanyo Maris was expected to arrive at Southport at approx. 8.25am this morning. This meant that The Rum Consortium's Davidson 12 Phillips Foote Witchdoctor was the last yacht to finish the 24th Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race at 9.31pm on 28 July 2009.
