Some of the world's best women's match racers from Australia and New Zealand shared flights across the Tasman, flying in from Auckland following the New Zealand Women's Match Racing Championship. The highest ranked skipper in the regatta, Samantha Osborne (RNZYS) arrived yesterday, and is looking forward to taking on the Australian's again after finishing in third place behind Katie Pellew and Nicky Souter in the Auckland event.

Division 1 of the Audi IRC Series at the Audi Sydney Harbour Regatta again belonged to Stephen Ainsworth and his well-sailed Reichel/Pugh 63 Loki (NSW) today, his second overall win handing him the Series win after Wild Oats X, (Bob Oatley's Reichel/Pugh 66, suffered generator problems again and shredded two spinnakers, while Geoff Ross' Reichel/Pugh 55, Yendys (NSW) could not keep up the Loki pace.

CYCA Cruising, together with 6 boats from RPAYC, spent the weekend of the 9th and 10th January as guests of the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club. We took the easy option of sailing north in two legs, overnighting in Pittwater and then riding an ESE breeze the 48nm to Newcastle.
